SeachemAquarium filter accessories Matrix 4 L

Natural porous bacterial support. Works aerobically and anaerobically. No need to change it over time. Matrix is the highly effective high-porosity filtration media for nitrogenous waste removal. Each liter of Matrix provides as much surface area (>700m²) as 170 liters of plastic bioballes. It provides an external and internal macroporous surface. These macropores are ideally sized to support nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria. Working aerobically in this way, it eliminates ammonia and nitrite, and anaerobically, nitrate. As the majority of bacteria are internal, Matrix can be rinsed out without damaging the filtration system. It does not need to be replaced over time! 4 l treat 1600 l.
