Composition: German Silver (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel) a relaxed and sturdy alloy.
Effect: The Pelham is a good compromise between a bridle and a bit. It provides a lever effect that varies depending on the length of the branches, the adjustment of the curb chain, and its setup. It leads to a release of the poll as well as pressure on the jaws.
Usage advice: The ball joint bit allows dividing the pressure points and thus lightens the horse’s workload. All Pelhams can be used directly, with four reins, or with links. Similarly, the action of the curb chain can be softened with other types of curb chains such as leather or nylon.
Maintenance advice: Rinse the bit well after each use to limit the build-up of residues and prevent discomfort for your horse.
