Velari Eggbutt Flex Double Jointed Medium – combines a double-jointed Flex mouthpiece with the quiet, stable positioning of Eggbutt rings. The double-jointed construction distributes pressure evenly across the tongue and bars, while the fixed Eggbutt rings keep the mouthpiece more stable in the horse’s mouth. This creates a consistent and clearly defined connection for horses that prefer a quieter bit.
The 18 mm mouthpiece features a firm synthetic coating with a rigid core. According to the manufacturer, the material is non-toxic, horse-safe and suitable for long-term use. Its smooth, non-metallic surface avoids the cold feel associated with traditional metal mouthpieces while allowing clear transmission of the rein aids. The double-jointed construction follows the shape of the horse’s mouth and reduces the nutcracker effect associated with single-jointed bits.
By reducing upward movement towards the roof of the mouth, the double-jointed construction is particularly suitable for horses with a lower palate according to the manufacturer. The fixed Eggbutt rings limit excessive lateral movement of the mouthpiece and reduce the risk of pinching at the corners of the mouth. The Velari Eggbutt Flex Double Jointed Medium is therefore particularly suited to sensitive horses and riders looking for a quiet, stable connection with balanced pressure distribution and precise rein aids.
