- Adjust the cheek pieces and bit placement for your horse. Ideally, start off loose and tighten for added control and cueing.
- The browband piece should rest lightly across your horses forehead and should sit about 1/2″-1″ below the front of the ears. If the browband is too low the throat latch may be too tight
- Adjust the throatlatch so that you can fit 2-4 fingers between it and the underside of your horses jaw
- This is important as a too tight throat latch could prohibit the horses breathing
